Writing Fat Dharma: July 27 Workshop

$45.00

In the Dharma, mindfulness of body is a core practice, inviting us to be connected with our body as it is in this moment. For those of us with fat bodies in cultures where we are consistently shamed and ridiculed into self-hatred? Mindfulness of body is a radically liberatory practice.

Mindfulness of body is just one of many entries to understanding Dharma through the experiences of our fat bodies in a fat-hating world. We began to touch on these insights in a class last year on Fat Dharma, and felt the group speak wisely from their own experiences. It is time to explore more!

For this workshop, we’d like to call together fat dharma practitioners who would like space to reflect with others on our specific and collective experiences and insights. Bring your best tools for self-expression (e.g. journal, art supplies) and join for three hours of mindfulness practice, playing with creative prompts, and sharing our stories and insights with others. We will also have a ritual to honor fat dharma leaders — including our peers and ourselves.

We will gather on Zoom on Sunday, July 27 6-8:30p ET | 3-5:30p PT. Suggested registration fee of $45 supports your teacher; reach out to dawn@thechangemidwife.com for a discounted rate or full scholarship.
